QUAIL CREEK COUPLES GOLF ASSOCIATION
CHARTER AND BYLAWS
ARTICLE 1. NAME
The name of this organization shall be Quail Creek Couples Golf Association (QCCGA), a non-profit social organization.
ARTICLE 2. PURPOSE
The purpose of this Association is to conduct couples golf tournaments and promote friendship among its members.
ARTICLE 3. MEMBERSHIP
A: Members must be homeowners in good standing with Quail Creek Property Owners Association, under contract with Quail Creek to build a home, a holder of a non-resident annual golf membership, or a renter at Quail Creek.
B. Individuals or couples may sign up for membership.
C. All members must have a verifiable handicap. Maximum handicap index shall be 36.4 for men which will be converted to a course handicap in accordance with USGA Rule 3-3; maximum handicap index shall be 40.4 for women which will be converted to a course handicap in accordance with USGA rule 3-3, and adjusted per USGA rule 3.5. Handicap indexes are established through Quail Creek Golf Associations that our members belong to in accordance with the AGA and USGA.
D. All members are eligible to vote, hold office, and participate in Quail Creek Couples Golf Association sponsored events.
E. Composition of couples for monthly events shall be one woman and one man. Men can play from either the silver or copper tees, with their handicaps adjusted according to rule 3.5. Ladies can play from either the copper or the topaz tees, with their handicaps adjusted according to rule 3.5. .
ARTICLE 4. DUES AND FINANCES
A. The Board of Directors will determine the annual dues for the current year. The fiscal year shall run January 1 to December 31. Dues shall be paid prior to playing with Quail Creek Couples Golf Association.
B. Each couples event shall have a specified entry fee (does not include golf fee), which will be posted on the announcement flyer. Fee must be rendered at the time of sign up. Entries will be accepted up to the posted closing date. Later sign-ups will go on a waiting list. No entry fee will be returned for cancellations after the posted closing date, except in extreme emergencies at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Each event will be self supporting. All monies collected go back to that event.
ARTICLE 5. BOARD OF DIRECTORS
A. The Board of Directors shall consist of President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Tournament Chairperson. These positions will be filled at the annual election.
B. The term of office shall be for one year, with a maximum of three consecutive years in that office. The term shall run from January through December. Vacancies during the year in the positions of Secretary, Treasurer, and Tournament Chair will be filled by a board appointment. A vacancy in the office of President will be filled by a special election.
C. Committee chairs shall be appointed by the Board of Directors.
D. Scheduled open board meetings shall be held at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
ARTICLE 6. ELECTIONS
A. Elections shall be held at the November Annual Meeting in conjunction with the November tournament. All members may vote at the November meeting. The nominating committee shall be appointed by the Board of Directors. Nominations will be posted 30 days prior to election. Nominations from the floor will be allowed.
ARTICLE 7. CHANGES
A. Changes of the Charter and Bylaws must be approved by a majority of the members attending a meeting for that specific purpose. Changes will be posted for member review 30 days prior to the meeting held for the purpose of voting.
B. Changes must be approved by Quail Creek Property Owners Association.
